"Most Effective Storm Water Run-off Treatment Strategies for Post-fire Burn Sites"
With wildfires becoming the new “norm” in California and record heat, droughts and drier land fueling more frequent and extreme fires, it’s critical that we focus on creating the lowest combustible landscapes as well as managing the impact of unpredictable rain events resulting in mass flooding, debris flows and severe storm water erosion and hazardous pollution run-off. This workshop will feature current research on what works and what doesn’t in mitigating post-fire damage. How to "mimic" Nature to repair the damage will be covered. University research, regional case studies and field experience from CalRecycle disaster recovery professionals will be presented with examples of the most cost effective, sustainable and highest performing Sustainable Mgmt. Practices (SMP’s).
