FILTREXX HOSTS STORM WATER AWARENESS WEEK WORKSHOPS
Filtrexx invites you to participate in Storm Water Awareness Week Workshops throughout California, from September 24-28, 2018. Now in its 7th year, Storm Water Awareness Week is a collaboration effort of the storm water community that exists to provide an opportunity for earning professional development credits free of charge. As we like to say, "Storm water education shouldn't be big business." Filtrexx is proud to participate in this initiative by hosting various workshops throughout the state, all week long.
"Success stories bringing facilities to Baseline"
Aaron Ortiz from WGR and Bryan Hofmann from Filtrexx will give combined
success stories of steps industrial permittees took to return their
facilities back to Baseline compliance. Aaron and Bryan will provide an
overview of specific sites and methods taken along with the BMPs, both
minimum and advanced, that brought facilities from Level 2 to Baseline.
Lunch provided before the workshop begins at 12:30 PM.

"Post-fire BMP’s and Erosion & Storm Water Run-off Management: What Does the Research Tell Us?"
With wildfires becoming the new "norm" in California and record heat,
drought and drier land fueling more frequent and extreme fires, it's
critical that we focus on the threats that emerge after the fires are
out and we are faced with unpredictable rain events leading to the
potential for mass flooding, landslides and severe storm water erosion
and hazardous pollution run-off. This workshop will feature current
research on what works and what doesn't when it comes to mitigating
post-fire damage and how to "mimic" Nature to help repair the damage.
University research findings as well as field experience from CalRecycle
disaster recovery professionals and erosion control specialists will be
presented with examples of the most cost effective and highest
performing BMP's. (Includes Lunch)

Do you need PDHs for your storm water certification? This is the perfect
class to attend for those needing PDHs or to learn about the
installation and maintenance of erosion and sediment controls. This
class and the following class together are a shorten version of WGR's
popular BMP Roundup event. We will have hand's on learning
opportunities. Stay for lunch and Part 2 of the Lessons from the
Sandbox.
